The core team at Peepal, clearly represents the values, ambitions and work ethic of the organization. We have grown to well over twice the size of the core team with new people joining us every month. You will see them on this page in due course as they mesh in and contribute to our common purpose.

Similarly, our engagement with our advisors is increasing with them coming on board formally as evangelists and financers.

Pawan Kakwani
Founder

With several years of managerial experience at firms like Zensar and Samsung and an IIM B degree Pawan founded Peepal to explore and design unique applications around new technologies. Simplicity, impact and excellence, values that he embodies, are his criteria of building products at Peepal.
A go-getter who is passionate about solving problems, he intends to build an organization that brings out the best from its members while we commission an action-figure dedicated to his energy.

Arun Sarma
Co-founder

After an MBA from SPJIMR in 2002 Arun has been an entrepreneur in diverse sectors like BPO and Media. A self-confessed "Jack of all trades" he co-founded Peepal with Pawan to create value through mobility led BOP innovations. Having been a humor columnist for a Bangalore paper he enjoys the funny papers and has been running half-marathons to balance out his love for cocktails and conversation.

Oscar D′souza
Director

Oscar is a Telecom industry veteran with several years at PwC Consulting and an IIM B degree behind him. A big believer in the ability of the right technology intervention to positively impact work and life, he is focused on solving everyday problems for our customers. And he is hooked to the positive feedback that follows; from customers who use our products! This motivates him to drive the team in all the right directions, but he isn′t above threatening to take us all along for one of his African Wildlife safaris. The other thing that has him hooked.

Sanjay Kumar Dey
Visual Experience Lead

Sanjay has a Bachelor degree in Arts and brings his several years of experience in the IT industry to his role as Visual Experience Lead at Peepal. Web development & design isn′t just a job for Sanjay; it is part of his lifestyle. With every project, we see him strive to create a unique, functional, and memorable experience for users. And true to his love for the visual arts he is a great movie buff with a predilection for Ray films.

Uma Vinoba
Assistant Developer

Uma, armed with B.Tech (Computer Science) from Pondicherry University, is an integral part of our web application development and the growth story at Peepal. She is motivated to develop products that leverage technology to better social causes and paints for relaxation to her favorite music.

Sudhakar G
Development Lead

Sudhakar feels that, careerwise, he may not have gone where he intended to go, but has ended up where he needs to be. An IT veteran with over 17 years of experience with companies like Vodafone, Microsoft and NSN, he says his quest is at an end at Peepal. As Development Lead, Sudhakar enjoys the work environment and culture at Peepal and feels that his talent & experience are being put to peak utilization.

Ashish Dewan
Account Manager

A travel enthusiast and comics buff, Ashish lives to "try out everything under the sun". An alumnus of BIT, Mesra he has previously worked with PwC as a Telecom Sector Consultant. His plans for the future include starting a chain of restaurants, schools & libraries and using Google maps to draw out the complete history of the world. Currently, he′s reading up on how to become a pilot. All this while he keeps the African markets warm for Peepal.

Mariza Dias
Support Executive

Mariza has a Bachelor′s of Science in Computer Science and an MBA which she has put to good use in her career as a Business Analyst. She handles Reporting for Peepal′s flagship product, Infrastat and brings her strong work ethic of making a difference in whatever she does to our data reporting and analysis. Passionate about travel she hopes to visit all the continents some day. Soon.

Advisors

We are fortunate to have advisors who have both guided and opened up opportunities for us. Our advisors include academicians from IIM-Bangalore and ISB, Hyderabad as well as our technical advisors who are in senior roles at Mphasis and Adobe.
Recently, an ex-Infosian came on board as advisor with an important working capital infusion and access to his invaluable advice.

Sharad Hegde

Sharad is the first non-founder employee of Infosys and an industry expert with over 3 decades of experience in the design and development of global software products and services. He was the chief architect of Finacle, the leading core banking product from Infosys and retired from Infosys as their CTO in 2003.
Today he champions Bangalore′s Clover Greens, a fine golfing haven he promoted in 2009 and is an angel investor when so inclined. Sharad is a B.Tech from IIT Madras and M.Tech from NITIE, Mumbai.
At Peepal, he advises us on technology, product strategy and scalability apart from providing us working capital for our growth plans.
